About Veronica
My WHY - Helping people move from tentative to confident, holding up a mirror so they can see possibility, is an absolute thrill for me. I do my best work when providing perspective, challenging limiting beliefs and asking questions, creating better results with clients who are successful and are searching for even more. Co-creating exciting plans of action with people, whether for work or in their personal or creative life, is a joy.
I’ve spent the majority of my 25+ year career in Human Resources in the high-tech Engineering field, including as Corporate Director, Human Resources for an international Manufacturing Engineering company, and I’ve loved it. At the same time, I’ve taught more creative classes than I can count, while exploring my own creativity, working with experienced artists and people new to exploring their creative side. Often, I found myself doing exactly the same things with my creative students, that I did in my HR work around perspective and preconceptions.
Coaching is a natural fit for me, adding to my skills as a longtime mentor and teacher. I found the Adler Graduate Professional School, affiliated at the time with University of Toronto, and enrolled in what is now their Expert Coach programme. There was academic rigor combined with courses such as Coaching in the Context of Work. Coaching became another way of serving, augmenting my HR and mentorship work.
I achieved my Certified Association Executive designation while working as Director of Conferences and Member Services for a national association of corporate treasurers.
Since 2005, I’ve been a Career Mentor at McMaster University, working one-on-one with students considering their career choices. I’ve mentored HR Professionals through the Human Resources Association of Peel since 2009 and was Vice Chair, HRPA Peel Mentorship Committee. I currently serve on the HRPA Peel Regulatory Discussion Group Committee and have also served on the Nominating Committee.
I was a volunteer Literacy Tutor for over a decade and served as a Board Member on the Oakville Literacy Council, Canadian Society of Association Executives, Toronto Chapter, and DCA.
